FRAUD ALERT: PROTECTING YOUR BUSINESS IDENTITY 🚨

…we stopped the scam before it even started.
In today’s digital freight landscape, identity fraud in trucking is no longer a rare incident—it’s a growing threat. Just a few days before Independence Day, while freight volumes were peaking and teams across the industry were stretched thin, we at AAM Network Inc. faced a serious challenge.
But we’re proud to say: we stopped the scam before it even started.
What Happened?
A fraudster attempted to impersonate AAM Network Inc. using our MC#060330 and a fake dispatch email address—dispatch@aamnetworklnc.com
. Notice the trick? A single swapped letter in the domain (lnc instead of inc). This small detail could have caused huge losses for brokers and shippers.
Their goal? To illegally book freight under our name and vanish with the cargo.
🚨 Tactics Used by the Scammer:
- Slight variation in email domain (e.g.
lnc.com
instead ofinc.com
) - Pretending to be part of our dispatch team
- Using VOIP phone numbers mimicking our caller ID
- Attempting to book loads via major broker platforms
🛡️ How We Stopped It
At AAM Network, our team acted immediately and decisively. Here’s how we responded:
- Notified all brokers and partners within hours
- Verified all suspicious communications with affected parties
- Worked with platforms to block and report the impersonator
- Strengthened our internal email verification protocols
- Cross-checked all booking communications through our official contact methods
Result: We successfully blocked over 30 fraudulent load attempts—before a single truck rolled out.
âś… What You Can Learn from This
Fraudsters rely on busy schedules, calendar holidays, and human error. Don’t give them the advantage.
🔒 AAM Network’s Security Advice for All Industry Professionals:
- Always verify the email domain. One letter can be the difference between security and a scam.
- Call directly to confirm dispatch requests, especially when working with new contacts.
- Use multi-factor authentication for your systems whenever possible.
- Keep a dedicated fraud protocol and share it with your team and partners.
- Report all suspicious attempts immediately to FMCSA and broker platforms.
